The latest installment of Pokémon, called Celebration Journey, has been revealed and will showcase the best moments from all nine generations of games for dedicated fans. 2026 is shaping up to be an amazing year for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary! Instead of limiting celebrations to just February, The Pokémon Company is extending them throughout the entire year. As one example, special 30th anniversary Pokémon Trading Card Game cards are coming soon, including exclusive Pikachu collectibles you can’t get anywhere else.
The Pokémon Company has partnered with Ravensburger to create a special collection called Celebration Journey, designed to appeal to longtime fans. It’s available for pre-order on Amazon now and will be officially released on October 7th. This release celebrates 30 years of Pokémon, including creatures from the very first generation all the way through the ninth!
The Celebration Journey puzzle is a huge challenge with over 40,000 pieces! To make it easier, it’s broken down into 10 smaller puzzles, each showing Pokémon in their natural habitats. The first puzzle, for instance, depicts a city scene with Pokémon like Butterfree, Snorlax, Psyduck, Zigzagoon, and Pikachu. Keep an eye out – there’s even a hidden Mimikyu somewhere in that scene!
The haunted forest area of the puzzle features Pokémon like Corviknight, Dusknoir, Abra, Umbreon, Noctowl, Zoroark, and the popular Gengar. While these blocks aren’t limited to one specific type, they all showcase Pokémon fitting for each section of the puzzle. Once you connect all the pieces, the finished Pokémon jigsaw will be a massive 268 inches long and 76 inches wide! Completing this 40,000-piece puzzle is quite an achievement – you might even want to frame it.
The most significant hurdle might be the cost itself, even before you begin assembling the puzzle. The Celebration Journey puzzle from Pokémon, made by Ravensburger, is quite expensive – it costs $729.99 to pre-order. Considering its size and the high quality Ravensburger provides, this price isn’t entirely unexpected. However, it’s a good idea to start saving if you want to celebrate Pokémon‘s 30th anniversary with this puzzle.
Look, as a Pokémon fan, I have to say this new Celebration Journey puzzle is really something special – it’s a solid addition to everything they’ve done so far, and honestly, it’ll keep you busy for quite a while. Probably until Pokémon Winds and Waves drops in 2027, if we’re being real.
