With so many complex and unconventional shows now on TV, the ending of The Sopranos feels surprisingly relevant. Instead of seeing it as the end of a great era, it’s more accurate to view it as a show that predicted the kind of storytelling we see today – a storytelling that often leaves questions unanswered and embraces uncertainty. That sudden silence at the end wasn’t just shocking; it was a glimpse into the future of television.

Following the release of James Gunn’s Superman movie and news about The Batman Part II, DC Comics has updated the branding for some of its most famous heroes, starting with Batman. They recently unveiled a new logo for the character that’s a fresh look, distinct from the one used in the Robert Pattinson Batman films and other recent versions.

The news that a potential series, The Hunt for Ben Solo, almost happened has caused a huge reaction from Star Wars fans. They’ve even started a campaign to revive the project, with efforts including a billboard in Times Square and a flyover of Disney Studios. Many are hoping Disney CEO Bob Iger will consider their enthusiasm and allow the series, directed by Soderbergh, to move forward. The show cleverly adapted the original cases to fit contemporary issues and technology. While the first two seasons were highly successful, the quality noticeably decreased in the final two seasons.

I really loved both of these films, and thankfully, critics and audiences seemed to agree! It’s a shame, though, that they didn’t become huge hits in theaters. The Monkey had a decent start and ultimately earned $68 million globally – which, considering it only cost $10 million to make, is actually a success! But The Life of Chuck really struggled, and only brought in $19 million worldwide, even after Neon tried to build buzz around it for almost a year. It’s a bit disappointing when good movies don’t find a wider audience.

The recent release of 28 Years Later—the sequel to the popular film by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland—has sparked renewed interest in zombie stories. It proves there’s still a strong audience for thrilling, well-made zombie films. With its success, 2026 looks like it will be a fantastic year for fans of the undead.

While Christopher Reeve’s portrayal of Superman is often considered the best, another version of the hero has truly distinguished itself since then. It’s a much more accurate adaptation of the character than the recent interpretations that have leaned into being either a rebellious, edgy Superman or a brooding, dark one.
