Calling 2001: A Space Odyssey simply ‘important’ doesn’t quite capture how much it influenced science fiction and popular culture. It’s been referenced and paid tribute to in everything from The Simpsons to the recent Barbie movie, and it essentially defined how artificial intelligence is portrayed in movies and TV. For sixty years, filmmakers and artists have tried to recreate the feeling of seeing it for the first time, and Jeff Lemire’s 2022 comic series, Primordial, comes closest to achieving that.

According to a post on social media from @screentime, Scott Snyder (writer of Absolute Batman) and artist Nick Dragotta are planning to introduce brand new villains into the Absolute Universe. Although Snyder and Dragotta haven’t officially confirmed this, it’s likely they’ll be creating new enemies for Gotham City.

Tatsuki Fujimoto and Shonen Jump playfully misled all the fans of the Chainsaw Man manga. It seems the series isn’t finished after all! Readers have simply been experiencing the same unsettling uncertainty as the main character, Denji. While the real ending isn’t coming immediately, it hasn’t been released yet.

A reboot of the movie Highlander has been in development for over a decade, leading many to wonder if it would ever actually be made. The project started way back in 2008, with Ryan Reynolds of Deadpool initially considered for the main role. Several attempts to revive the film throughout the 2010s failed, but in 2021, Henry Cavill was cast as the lead. Now that the movie is finally moving forward, recent leaks are starting to reveal some of the details surrounding it.

Detective Comics #1107, written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Pete Woods, begins with a conflict – but it’s not the usual gang warfare in Gotham. This time, Batman is clashing with Green Arrow, who has recently relocated to the city with Black Canary and is now operating as a vigilante.

In April 2026, the most popular TV shows and specials were ranked using ‘Attention Signals’ – a measurement based on how much engagement they received on social media and video platforms like Facebook and YouTube. This includes things like likes, shares, comments, and views. This data gives a quick look at which new releases are really capturing people’s attention, even before considering reviews or overall viewership numbers.

Netflix is raising the prices of its plans. The Standard With Ads plan will now cost $8.99 per month, an increase of $1. The Standard plan without ads is going up by $2 to $19.99 per month, and the Premium plan will cost $26.99 per month, according to Variety.

The streaming service is raising its prices again in the U.S. for all three of its plans. This is the second price increase this year, following one announced in January.

ABC’s new crime drama, created by Robert Doherty and based on Carl Hiaasen’s 1987 novel Double Whammy, debuted on March 3rd. The show features Scott Speedman as R.J. Decker, a former newspaper photographer and convict trying to rebuild his life as a private investigator in South Florida. Jaina Lee Ortiz, Kevin Rankin, Adelaide Clemens, and Bevin Bru also star in the series.

As a Netflix watcher, I’ve noticed some shows take a little while to really hook me – you need to get through a few episodes before you’re invested. Others grab you right away, but then somehow improve with each new episode, which is amazing! And then there are those shows you almost give up on, thinking they aren’t worth the time… but then they completely win you over in the end. It’s always a fun surprise when that happens!
