Octavia Butler’s novel, Parable of the Sower, published in 1993, tells the story of a young woman surviving in a violent, post-apocalyptic America after society breaks down. Though initially recognized as a significant book when it came out, it didn’t become a New York Times bestseller until 2020 – nearly three decades later.

Netflix’s Homicide has become a huge hit, racking up over 76.3 million viewing hours. It’s currently a top 10 show in countries like the US and the UK. This success follows the release of Season 2, Homicide: New York, in March. The series began in 2024, initially focusing on cases in New York City. Continuing this wave of success, a new announcement reveals that two major Marvel actors will be starring in a movie together for the very first time.

I’m a big fan of Jack Ryan! It’s a really gripping action and thriller series that takes you all over the world, dealing with international espionage and politics. It ran for four seasons, but the story doesn’t stop there – Amazon is building out the Jack Ryan universe with more shows. Honestly, if you get into the original series, you’re going to be rewarded with a much bigger story to follow. It really makes you wonder what kind of heroes and villains we’ll meet along the way!

When it comes to replacing iconic heroes, the new character needs to be able to carry stories the original couldn’t, demonstrating adaptability and fitting the demands of today’s storytelling. While heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, and Spider-Man are irreplaceable, Marvel has often sought successors. Wolverine is certainly among those untouchable icons, but that hasn’t stopped Marvel from looking for another prominent X-Man and mutant, and it appears they may have finally found one.
