The upcoming Legend of Zelda movie will likely adapt the rich story from the video game series, which has been unfolding across more than 20 games since 1987 on Nintendo consoles. The story centers around Princess Zelda and Link, who are both connected to the Triforce – a key symbol, plot device, and the iconic logo of The Legend of Zelda.
In the upcoming Legend of Zelda movie, the roles of Zelda and Link, who embody wisdom and courage, have been filled. However, the actor to play Ganondorf, the character representing power, hasn’t been chosen yet.
Dichen Lachman has been cast as Impa, a character who often helps Zelda and Link, though her specific part in the story changes depending on the game.
We don’t yet know the exact story of The Legend of Zelda movie. It’s hard to say what will happen, as each game in the series has a slightly different plot, but they generally follow a similar pattern. Usually, the villain Ganondorf threatens Princess Zelda and the kingdom of Hyrule. Link then embarks on a journey to rescue Zelda and prevent Ganondorf from obtaining the powerful Triforce.
I’ve always loved that Hyrule feels like a classic fantasy world, but lately, the newer Zelda games have started mixing in some cool sci-fi and even hints of a world after some kind of disaster. It makes me wonder how much of that will show up in the upcoming Zelda movie – I’m really curious to see what they do with it!
The Legend of Zelda will now open in theaters on April 30, 2027.
