Details about the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series, Spider-Noir, a new take on the Spider-Man story, have been revealed. The series, which will be released later next month, focuses on an older, alternate version of the hero and promises a compelling story. Episode runtimes have also been announced.

Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Noir series’ episode runtime average revealed by new rumor

Each episode of Spider-Noir, featuring Nicolas Cage in the main role, is expected to be around 40 minutes long.

According to a post by the reliable source Cryptic HD QUALITY on X (formerly Twitter), the show’s episodes will be around forty-five minutes long. Two years ago, actor Nicolas Cage told The New Yorker that the eight episodes would add up to the length of four full-length movies, spread out over five months.

Gold Derby recently reported that Spider-Noir has been entered into the Comedy category for the first round of Emmy voting. This puts the superhero noir series in contention with popular comedies like Shrinking, Hacks, and Only Murders in the Building.

Oren Uziel, a co-showrunner on the series, hinted that Nicolas Cage gives a unique and compelling performance as Ben Reilly, and he’s eager for viewers to see it. He also praised the show’s supporting cast, describing working with them as an amazing experience, and hopes the audience connects with the show’s overall energy.

The first episode of Spider-Noir will debut in the U.S. on MGM+ on May 25, 2026. The complete series will then be available worldwide on Amazon Prime Video starting May 27. The show is expected to be rated TV-14 and will be offered in both black-and-white and color versions.

The story takes place in 1930s New York City and centers on Ben Reilly, a down-on-his-luck private investigator played by Nicolas Cage. Once known as The Spider, the city’s only superhero, Reilly left that life behind after a painful loss. But when an unusual case lands on his desk, he’s drawn back into the world he thought he’d left behind.

Let me tell you, Nicolas Cage isn’t the only fantastic actor in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The voice cast is seriously impressive – Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and the always brilliant Brendan Gleeson all bring their A-game. It’s a truly talented group that really makes the film shine.
