Fans of Alan Ritchson’s sports comedy series and its related movie should watch them soon! Both are leaving Netflix early next month.
Starting May 2nd, all three seasons of Blue Mountain State will no longer be available on Netflix. The show’s movie, Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland, is also leaving the platform on May 1st. Many fans believe Netflix helped keep Blue Mountain State popular after it originally aired on Spike TV (now Paramount Network).
Fans Are Still Waiting for the Revival
Several shows are being removed from streaming platforms while fans still await a revival series first announced in 2024. Reports indicated that the revival would feature a return of one of the show’s most beloved characters, along with actors Darin Brooks and Chris Romano. It’s currently unknown what’s happening with the project, but Netflix has been considered as a potential streaming home, especially since Blue Mountain State gained popularity there.
Brooks recently told TV Insider that the show has a dedicated and lasting fanbase. He still regularly encounters people who recognize him as the guy from Blue Mountain State, even though the show aired 16 or 17 years ago. He appreciates this continued recognition and loves hearing that people are still enjoying the series.

Romano also appeared as Sammy Cacciatore, Alex’s wildly energetic best friend and the team’s mascot, Billy the Mountain Goat.
In 2016, a movie called Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland was released, thanks to fan support and a successful Kickstarter campaign. The film continued the story from the TV show’s third season, showing Thad drafted into the NFL. Now a professional athlete, Thad’s former teammates ask for his help to save the iconic “Goat House.” He agrees, but only if they throw an epic party—called “Thadland”—to prove the house is worth saving.
For now, Blue Mountain State and Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland are .
