This week, Netflix viewers are captivated by a new 6-part crime thriller. It’s earned a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes and is quickly becoming a must-see. Released on May 7th, the suspenseful series climbed to #6 worldwide on Netflix’s most-watched list and has stayed popular all weekend. It’s currently competing with other hit thrillers like Man on Fire and Legends for the top spot.
Okay, so besides this amazing new crime thriller everyone’s talking about, here’s what I’m planning to binge-watch this week! There’s this comedy special that’s absolutely blown up online, plus a new season of that reality dating show I can’t get enough of. I was so happy Netflix picked up that hilarious comedy that was almost canceled, and I’m really excited for the second season of this animated series. Honestly, if you want the best recommendations for what to stream each week, ScreenRant is my go-to source.
The Roast Of Kevin Hart
Netflix’s roast of Kevin Hart launched on May 10th and quickly became the most-watched show in the U.S. The special features a star-studded lineup of comedians and celebrities like Shane Gillis, Tom Brady, and Pete Davidson. Following the popularity of last year’s roast of Tom Brady, this new comedy special is already generating a lot of buzz online and promises plenty of laughs and surprising moments.
Perfect Match
The popular Netflix dating show, Perfect Match, is back this Wednesday, May 13th, with its fourth season. Hosted by Nick Lachey, the series features singles who try to set other people up – and find love themselves! With three seasons and 30 episodes already available, it’s a great time to catch up before the new episodes arrive. The first five episodes will be released this week, and another two will be added next Wednesday.
Everyone Is Doing Great
Despite receiving incredibly positive reviews from audiences – a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes – Hulu canceled the comedy series Everyone Is Doing Great after only one season. Luckily, Netflix stepped in, and a second season, much to the delight of fans, premiered on Monday, May 11. The show, which originally aired in 2021, centers around three television writers navigating life after their hit vampire show ends. If you enjoy comedies about the entertainment industry, like Hacks, Everyone Is Doing Great is definitely worth checking out this week.
Devil May Cry
As a big animation fan, I’m really excited that season 2 of Devil May Cry hits Netflix this Tuesday, May 12th! For those who don’t know, it’s an adult animated series based on the popular video game, and it follows Dante, a demon hunter who’s half-demon himself. The first season, which came out in 2025, was a huge critical hit – it got a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes! Though, it seems general audiences, especially those familiar with the games, felt a little differently – the audience score was around 66%. Honestly, even if you haven’t played the Devil May Cry games, I think this season is going to be fantastic and definitely one of the biggest new shows this week.
The Chestnut Man
As a total movie and TV buff, I have to tell you about The Chestnut Man on Netflix. It’s a six-episode crime thriller that’s seriously grabbed my attention – it’s easily my top pick for something new to binge this week! It originally came out in 2021 and everyone loved it. If you’re into dark, twisty mysteries and crime shows, you need to check this one out. The plot is really well-crafted and keeps you guessing the whole time. It all starts when detectives find a creepy figure made of chestnuts at a murder scene, and it ties into the disappearance of a politician’s child. Honestly, if you’re craving a good, dark thriller on Netflix, The Chestnut Man is a must-watch!
