It feels like no one is busier than Tom Holland right now, and his schedule is about to get even more packed! Marvel Comics recently announced that he’ll be returning to play Spider-Man in a new project, likely titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, very soon.
And there’s even more to come! Spider-Man’s next storyline will feature a showdown with a legendary hero, and it’s all building towards the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, coming out in late July.
Coming out around July 15th is Punisher Vs Spider-Man #1, a new five-issue comic series from Marvel Comics. Written by Dan Abnett and illustrated by Matteo Della Fonte, the series will feature a major showdown between Spider-Man and the Punisher.

Spider-Man Fights Punisher Ahead of Brand New Day
Marvel’s upcoming team-up brings together The Punisher and Spider-Man, two very different heroes who both operate in New York City. They’re thrown together by chance and forced to work together when someone from the Punisher’s past needs help. The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day features a historic moment for the Marvel Cinematic Universe: the first on-screen interaction between Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. The trailer suggests they have very different approaches to fighting crime, culminating in a scene where Spider-Man stops the Punisher—even telling him, “Go home Frank.”

As a fan, I’m really excited to see these two characters clash! It’s been ages – since the ’90s, with ‘Year One’ – since I last wrote the Punisher, and this series is a blast. There’s tons of action, but what’s really cool is seeing them discover things about each other for the first time. It’s full of genuine surprises!
