Latest Disney+ Fantasy Show Gets Better RT Score Than Any MCU Series

The second season of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians has earned a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes after its recent premiere. The new season arrived almost two years after the first, continuing the epic fantasy series that combines contemporary stories with the world of Greek mythology. The show was created by Rick Riordan, who also wrote the original Percy Jackson novels, and Jonathan E. Steinberg.

Percy Jackson Season 2 tops Season 1’s Rotten Tomatoes score

Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is getting rave reviews, with a perfect 100% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences also love it, giving it an 88% rating on the site.

Season 2 received better ratings than Season 1, which had a 91% approval rating from critics and a 79% audience score.

The music in Season 2 is also the best of any Marvel TV series so far. While no other show has achieved a perfect 100% score, Ms. Marvel nearly did with 98%. It’s worth noting that Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, while a Marvel production, isn’t part of the main MCU, and it did receive a 100% rating. X-Men ’97 initially launched with a perfect 100% score on Disney+, but it later dropped slightly to 99%.

Season 2 of the show received a Metascore of 73 and an audience score of 8, generally indicating positive reviews. Interestingly, the first season earned the same Metascore of 73, but had a slightly lower audience score of 6.8.

Season 2 of the show is based on the second book in the Percy Jackson series, The Sea of Monsters. This season follows Percy as he journeys to the Sea of Monsters to find his friend Grover and retrieve the Golden Fleece. Along the way, he teams up with his Cyclops half-brother, Tyson, and his friends Annabeth and Clarisse. Together, they must stop Luke and Kronos from attacking Camp Half-Blood and Mount Olympus.

Season two began with the release of its first two episodes on December 10, 2025. New episodes will then be released weekly, with the season concluding on January 21, 2026.

Walker Scobell stars as Percy Jackson in the series. He’s joined by Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Dior Goodjohn, and a talented supporting cast.
