Recent news about the release of Landman season 3 highlights a major reason why Taylor Sheridan’s shows are so successful. These days, it’s common for streaming shows to have long breaks between seasons—sometimes even years. Popular series like Severance, Andor, Stranger Things, and Euphoria have all made fans wait a significant amount of time for new episodes.
It’s become typical for streaming shows to have long gaps between seasons, and this can be a real issue. When viewers have to wait years for new episodes, they might lose interest or even forget what happened previously, forcing them to rewatch old seasons. Even shows from creator Taylor Sheridan faced this – it took almost three years for the second season of 1923 to arrive on Paramount+.
However, the show Landman has consistently stood out. The second season concluded in January 2026, nearly a year after the first season’s finale. Interestingly, a third season was greenlit while the second was still airing, suggesting a quick production cycle. Now, it’s been confirmed that Taylor Sheridan’s show will maintain this fast pace with its upcoming seasons.
Stephen Kay, the director, recently shared an update on when season 3 of Landman might be released. He explained that the team is editing episodes while still filming, which should allow the new season to come out relatively quickly, similar to past seasons. This fast-paced production process is a key factor in the success of creator Taylor Sheridan’s shows.
Taylor Sheridan Embraces The Annual Release Format For Most Shows
Taylor Sheridan has quickly become a top writer in Hollywood for several reasons. He creates compelling television, excels as a modern Western storyteller, and consistently attracts major actors to his projects. Beyond these strengths, a key factor in his success is his rapid production schedule. While a few seasons, like those for Yellowstone and 1923, have been delayed, most of his shows follow an annual release pattern.
As a big fan of Taylor Sheridan’s work, I’ve noticed a really consistent pattern with his shows lately. It seems like every year, we get new seasons! Like, Landman seasons 1 and 2 were spaced almost exactly a year apart, and Mayor of Kingstown season 4 followed right after season 3, also with about a year in between. Even Tulsa King season 3, which he wasn’t directly writing this time, stuck to that yearly release schedule. And it looks like that’s going to keep happening – The Madison is already getting another season, and Marshals season 2 was quickly renewed too, so we’re in for a steady stream of new content!
Even when his shows weren’t always fast-paced, Taylor Sheridan kept viewers engaged by consistently releasing new content. For instance, while the second part of Yellowstone season 5 was delayed, fans still had plenty to watch with the full seasons of Lioness and 1923, plus seasons two and three of Mayor of Kingstown. Because of this steady stream of shows, Sheridan’s audience has remained loyal and his television universe has continued to expand.
What To Expect From Landman Season 3
With season 3 of Landman potentially arriving in late 2026 or early 2027, fans are already wondering what’s next for the hit show. Season 2 ended with several storylines to explore, particularly Tommy’s new venture: CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle, which involves his entire family and friends. The next season will likely center around Tommy, Cooper, and TL as they work to build their business from the ground up.
CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle will naturally bring family issues to the forefront in season 3 of Landman. Because the company is run entirely by family and friends, Tommy can now focus on his relationships without the complications of his work life and Cami. However, Tommy’s debt to Gallino (also known as Danny Morell) could give him and his organization even more control over Tommy, potentially forcing him into difficult and illegal circumstances.
The other Norris family members also have promising storylines ahead. Cooper focused much of last season on trying to marry Ariana, so the new season will likely show them beginning their life as a married couple. Meanwhile, Ainsley is starting college and cheerleading at TCU, which will create a separate story arc as she adjusts to college life and continues to mature.
Season 3 of Landman will probably continue the trend of arguments, conflicts, and family issues, particularly between Tommy and Angela. While their relationship has improved, Angela and Tommy still frequently clash, especially during Angela’s elaborate dinner parties. Tension could also arise from TL, as he and Tommy are working on their relationship but it remains fragile. Overall, the new season of Landman promises a lot of compelling storylines.
