Whenever a new season of the anime Jujutsu Kaisen comes out, it quickly becomes incredibly popular. However, the series hasn’t had much success with video games, and its arena fighter, Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash, wasn’t well-received. Now, the talented team behind the popular Naruto games is hinting at exciting possibilities for future Jujutsu Kaisen games.

According to Famitsu, Hiroshi Matsuyama from CyberConnect2 – the studio behind the popular Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm games – hinted at a possible Jujutsu Kaisen game announcement shortly after the season 3 finale. Fans can expect news between January 8th and 9th, 2026. If this new game is successful, it could become a strong competitor to the Naruto series in the fighting game genre.

CyberConnect2 CEO Teases Big Announcement After JJK Season 3 Premiere

Founded on February 16, 1996, the studio is getting ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026. CEO Matsuyama has confirmed they plan to release a special title to commemorate the milestone. Before that, they’ll make an announcement from Japan on January 9, 2026, right after the season 3 finale of Jujutsu Kaisen airs on January 8.

We’re celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2026! We’re holding a party on February 16th, primarily for people in the industry, where we’ll also be revealing our new game, the ‘CyberConnect2 30th Anniversary Title’. We think fans worldwide will be excited to hear about it.

This announcement seems to be just the first of many, with a larger reveal of a major anniversary game planned for February 16, 2026. Considering the studio’s long history of success, especially with RPGs like .hack before moving on to popular franchises like Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, Demon Slayer, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, a Jujutsu Kaisen game would be a great addition to their portfolio.

The first part of the new Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game anime series will premiere on January 8, 2026. Following the success of last year’s movie, fans have been eagerly awaiting the continuation, and it’s finally coming to television! I’m excited to watch it too. Jujutsu Kaisen Is Perfect for the CyberConnect2 Treatment

Although it’s probably too early to expect a fighting game continuation of Jujutsu Kaisen, CyberConnect2 would be the perfect developer for the job. Now that the manga has finished and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is introducing exciting new characters, powers, and creatures, a game like Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections could really do the series justice.

If you’re new to the world of Jujutsu Kaisen or haven’t played before, this game would showcase CyberConnect2’s skill for creating exciting, fast-paced combat and incredibly impressive special attacks, called “Supers.” Fans might remember that YouTuber Maximilian Dood was deeply moved by the spectacular Supers and Team Supers in Naruto x Boruto.

The action sequences in Jujutsu Kaisen are among the best in Shonen Jump, featuring incredibly destructive battles and unique powers – from body horror to soul manipulation and even controlling matter. While Demon Slayer received a similar adaptation but didn’t quite live up to expectations, Jujutsu Kaisen has the potential to finally surpass Naruto as the top fighting game adaptation.
