Jamie Campbell Bower Becomes The Perfect Joker With The DCU’s Fan-Favorite Batman Casting In Stunning Art

James Gunn’s DC Universe will introduce a fresh version of Batman with The Brave and The Bold, featuring Bruce Wayne and a fully formed Bat-Family. Because so many of Batman’s allies are already part of this new universe, it also means many of his enemies will be present too.

Fans are eager to see the Joker appear in James Gunn’s new DC Universe, and many would love to see Jamie Campbell Bower – known for his role as Vecna in Stranger Things – play the iconic villain. Artist @JohnKRegan recently shared artwork imagining Bower as the Joker alongside another popular actor as Batman. You can see the artwork below.

Brandon Sklenar will be playing Batman in the upcoming film The Brave and The Bold, as revealed in new artwork. He’s been vocal about wanting the role in James Gunn’s DC Universe, and fans have enthusiastically supported the idea.

Although Luke Bower hasn’t officially become part of the DC Universe, he’s expressed interest in joining the franchise. In 2023, he told the Geek House Show that he’d be excited to play another villain from Batman’s world, and went on to say:

I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about the possibility of Jamie Campbell Bower playing Scarecrow, and honestly, I think it’s a fantastic idea! He seems really enthusiastic about it too, and can you imagine how chilling and fun he’d be in that role? It would be genuinely spooky, and I’d definitely be excited to see that happen.

DC Studios hasn’t officially said what they’re planning for the Joker in the new DC Universe, but they’ve started looking at different Batman villains for the first chapter, called ‘Gods and Monsters.’ One specific project will focus on bringing one of these villains to the forefront.

The R-rated horror film Clayface, starring Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen, is scheduled to come out on September 11th. It will introduce this version of the character into the DC Universe and offer a closer look at Gotham City before the events of The Brave and The Bold.

Evidence suggests the Joker may appear in the upcoming DC movie. Photos from the set featuring Clayface hint at his presence, implying he’s already active in the shared DC Universe. Given what we’ve learned about the film so far, especially its R-rating, the movie releasing in September could reveal more about his role.

DC Studios is still working on the script for The Brave and the Bold, directed by Andy Muschietti, and hasn’t announced a release date yet.
