While he can be a little reserved and has some odd habits, he initially came across as reliable, well-groomed, and self-assured.

The party he threw, as seen in “Game Night,” was noticeably awkward, even with all the effort Janine put into getting Gregory and his place ready for simple get-together.

Abbott Elementary Would Benefit From More Conflict
A little tension between Janine and Gregory could actually be good for Abbott Elementary as the series continues. The show used to feature more conflict – like Janine wanting Barbara’s approval, Gregory hoping to become principal, and everyone dealing with workplace changes – and bringing that back could add another layer to future seasons.
Now that the teachers are experienced and work well together, Abbott Elementary is starting to feel a little too pleasant and comforting without enough compelling storylines. It’s natural that they’ve resolved some of the initial problems from season one, but the show needs to present new, more complex challenges for the characters to face, instead of simply removing all obstacles.
It would make sense for Janine and Gregory’s relationship to become strained, building on what we’ve already seen in season 5. Their difficulties not only affect them, but also create issues for those around them.
Janine and Gregory have overcome their initial conflict, but it highlighted deeper issues they still need to address. Directly confronting these problems would restore a clear sense of direction to the show, Abbott Elementary.
