He’s completely out of his element, coming from the poorest, most neglected part of King’s Landing. He doesn’t know anyone and is unfamiliar with the customs of the wealthy and powerful. This makes interacting with lords, ladies, and royalty feel surreal, and he’s constantly unsure if people are being genuine or mocking him. It’s a naturally funny situation, stemming from his complete lack of social awareness in this new world.

Based on everything discussed, I believe A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a fantastic starting point for new viewers.
