The show “Heated Rivalry” has quickly become popular worldwide, and viewers are loving its mature content. Now that a second season has been confirmed and production is starting soon, some fans are worried that this sudden fame might not be good for the show’s quality.
Christina Chang, known for her role in The Good Doctor and currently starring in Heated Rivalry, recently spoke with Forbes about the upcoming season of the show and the challenges that come with its growing popularity. She discussed how she plans to support her younger co-stars who are quickly gaining fame thanks to the show’s success, particularly given its adult themes and intense fan following.
They’ve taken care of Mom and now I’m helping out by making chicken soup. I’ve basically become their assistant. It seems like things are going to stay this way, and honestly, I think they’re coping with everything really well.
Honestly, when I connect with them – whether we’re chatting or texting – they always seem really grounded and positive. I admire how they stay so calm and relaxed, even when things get hectic. It’s key, I think, because that’s what lets you truly be in the moment and appreciate everything around you.

Charlene Chang plays Yuna Hollander, the mother of Shane Hollander, who is played by Hudson Williams. The show takes place in the high-stakes world of professional hockey, focusing on the intense competition and surprising connection between two star players: Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov (played by Connor Storrie).
Chang was asked how the show Heated Rivalry might evolve now that a larger company like HBO is managing distribution, instead of it being a small, independent production. Originally, the series aired on the Canadian streaming service Crave. Chang emphasized that the show has stayed true to Rachel Reid’s novels thanks to the creator, Jacob Tierney.
I have complete faith in Jacob and believe they’ll maintain the same positive atmosphere we had on set. I trust my fellow actors, and I’m confident any new cast members will also make excellent choices. I’m really excited about getting back together – I think being on set again will be amazing. I’m truly looking forward to it and have no concerns at all.
Given the ongoing popularity of the Heated Rivalry, it’s no surprise the series has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, boasting a 99% rating from critics and a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
