The Harry Potter reboot is just getting started.
HBO has confirmed that a second season of the Harry Potter series is happening! It will be based on the book Chamber of Secrets. This announcement comes several months before the first season even premieres in December.
Behind the scenes, changes are already underway for Harry Potter season 2. Jon Brown, who previously wrote for the show, has been promoted to co-showrunner and will work with Francesca Gardiner. Gardiner explained that with plans to finish season 1 by Christmas and begin season 2 this fall, adding a co-showrunner is essential to keep production moving smoothly.
Gardiner expressed how thrilled she was to hear about Jon Brown’s promotion, recalling their positive working relationship since they first met on the set of ‘Succession’ and continuing through their current work on ‘Harry Potter.’ She praised his writing skills, collaborative spirit, and kind personality, adding that he’s a valuable asset to the team. Production for season two of ‘Harry Potter’ is scheduled to begin this fall.
