Harry Potter Director on Why Cursed Child Movie Is ‘Impossible’

In an interview with The Times, Chris Columbus expressed doubt that a reunion with the original Harry Potter cast for a Cursed Child adaptation would be possible due to some of them holding strong views on transgender rights that differ significantly from J.K. Rowling’s views on the topic.

Columbus directed Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001) and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002). In addition, he took on the role of producer for the third film in the series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004).
