Evil Dead Burn Moves Release Dates After Gruesome CinemaCon Trailer & New Teaser

is arriving sooner than expected.

The next Evil Dead movie, directed by Sébastien Vanicek, is coming after the 2023 release of Evil Dead Rise. While the story hasn’t been revealed yet, it was originally planned to be in theaters on July 24th.

I just saw the new trailer for the next Evil Dead movie – it’s playing before showings of Lee Cronin’s The Mummy! And great news for fans, it’s now coming out on July 10, 2026, which is two weeks earlier than we originally thought. Warner Bros. told ScreenRant about the date change, and I’m already marking my calendar!

I just got back from CinemaCon, and let me tell you, the buzz is real for the new Evil Dead film! They showed us a first look, and now the release date has shifted a bit. Interestingly, the trailer that’s playing in theaters before The Mummy isn’t exactly what we saw at CinemaCon, but trust me, both versions deliver on the Deadites and the scares. Here’s a breakdown of what I witnessed at that CinemaCon screening…

Okay, so picture this: I’m watching this scene, and it starts so normally – a woman unloading the dishwasher. Then, boom, a loud noise! She goes to check it out and finds Alice, and this guy just bursts through the door, totally winded. Before they can even process that, someone starts knocking. They open the door, and it’s… well, it’s horrifying. This person walks in, clearly messed up – missing fingers, blood everywhere. The camera slowly pans up to the woman’s face, and you see this really disturbing image reflected in her eyes – a car headrest, but distorted by this… thing – a Deadite. She yanks it out, and it’s just pure, unsettling chaos.

Then things get really creepy. We see this old, beat-up book – it’s clearly the one from the original Evil Dead films. After that, it’s just quick cuts of monsters and some intense fighting. A voice, coming from somewhere we can’t see, hints that they’re trying to bring the whole family together using the book. It gets even stranger when the guy with the headrest just… drinks a burning candle! And then, this poor guy starts gasping for air and collapses right onto the dishwasher, and the woman actually pushes him further onto all the knives and forks inside. Seriously unsettling stuff.

Similar to the positively received Evil Dead Rise, the new film Burn introduces a completely new cast of characters and doesn’t bring back anyone from past movies. The film stars Souheila Yacoub, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Victory Ndukwe, Tandi Wright, and Erroll Shand.

The release date for Evil Dead Burn has been moved, and it will now open on the same day as Disney’s live-action Moana remake and Sony’s Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass.
