Roy continued to work on his personal problems, attending regular therapy sessions with Dr. Sharon and still missing Keeley. Meanwhile, Jamie Tartt began to confront long-held emotional barriers, realizing how they stemmed from his complicated relationship with his father.
Nate quickly went back to the team after briefly leaving for West Ham, and this time he brought a girlfriend with him. Coach Beard married Jane and chose to remain in England, while Sam finally achieved his goal of opening a Nigerian restaurant.
Colin (played by Billy Harris) felt relieved after sharing his sexuality with his teammates. To his surprise, Trent Crimm (James Lance) offered support and revealed he was also gay. Trent had written a book about Ted’s coaching style, originally titled The Lasso Way, but Ted kindly requested he change it to The Richmond Way.
Who Stars in Ted Lasso Season 4?
Jason Sudeikis returns as the main character, Ted Lasso. This season, with Ted spending time in Kansas and prioritizing fatherhood alongside coaching, we might see more of his son Henry and potentially his ex-wife Michelle (played by Andrea Anders).
Most of the original cast will be back for another season, including Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Phil Temple, and Nick Mohammed. Jeremy Swift is also returning as Leslie Higgins. The show is adding several new actors, including Tanya Reynolds (known for Sex Education), Jude Mack (Back In Action), Faye Marsay (Adolescence), Rex Hayes (The Pact), Aisling Sharkey (Jurassic World: Dominion), and Abbie Hern (My Lady Jane). According to Jason Sudeikis, they’ll realize that everything happens for a reason and they’ll end up exactly where they’re supposed to be.
The show’s first three seasons explored men’s mental health in sports, but Season 4 appears to be shifting its focus to broader social issues. A trailer hints at this change with a scene where a fan greets Ted warmly upon his return to England, then immediately insults him for coaching a women’s team, even calling him a derogatory name.
This show clearly connects with the ongoing conversation about how much more coverage men’s sports receive compared to women’s sports. It seems Ted Lasso plans to address this important issue through its storyline.
With the story focusing on the women, Rebecca and Keeley could team up and offer support to players facing personal issues – almost like a female version of the Diamond Dogs. We’ll also see if Ted changes how he coaches to inspire and build confidence in these ambitious young women.

This suggests that Ted Lasso isn’t just returning for a single season to satisfy viewers; it’s setting up a brand new storyline and beginning an exciting next phase of The Richmond Way.
