I’ve always been impressed by the mecha designs in this anime, especially the famous EVA Unit-01. Now, Toyota is joining the fun with a new collection inspired by the color schemes of these giant robots – it’s a really cool collaboration!

The Eva Racing 1/64 scale miniature car set, created in collaboration with POP RACE and based on the EVANGELION series, includes six unique toy cars. This set is sold as a blind box, meaning you don’t know which car you’ll get! There’s also a rare chance to find a special edition version of the EVA Unit-01 car. While the cars won’t be available for months, fans can pre-order them now.

Evangelion Launches New Fleet of Die-Cast Race Cars for Anime Fans Worldwide

The new POP RACE 1/64 scale Evangelion model cars are inspired by the official EVANGELION RACING cars that competed in the FORMULA DRIFT JAPAN 2025 event. These cars represent an official racing team connected to the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise, and their designs reflect that connection.

The new collection of blind box toys features Unit-01, Unit-02, Unit-00, Provisional Unit-05, Mark.06, and Unit-08. Some of these units haven’t received much attention in previous merchandise. POP MART is famous for its highly detailed and realistic model cars and toys, so this partnership with NERV is a perfect fit. Because these are blind boxes, however, getting a specific car isn’t guaranteed.

You can now pre-order the complete set for 21,120 yen, which is about US$140. However, shipping isn’t expected until October 2026, so it will be a while before these race car toys are available.
