In the latest sneak peek from DC Studios’ upcoming Lanterns series, Aaron Pierre and Kelly Macdonald are seen portraying their characters. Pierre takes on the role of John Stewart, a Green Lantern trainee, while Macdonald debuts as Sheriff Kerry. The set, during filming, showcased production stills on large monitors situated in a vast, dimly lit area with industrial interiors and lofty ceilings.

According to Variety, it was confirmed in October 2024 that Macdonald became part of the cast, portraying Sheriff Kerry. This character is described as a practical woman who is extremely devoted to her family and community, her strength stemming from a challenging background. As the town’s secrets unravel, her resolve holds firm. In this series, Sheriff Kerry develops a connection with Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler, and their relationship blossoms as more than just professional partners.

In an interview with Phase Hero, Director James Hawes discussed the style of the upcoming project. He mentioned that Chris Mundy and Damon Lindelof, known for their work on shows like Ozark, True Detective, and No Country for Old Men, have brought a sharp wit and rich character development to the script. The project has a feel similar to a buddy cop movie, with a naturalistic tone reminiscent of True Detective, Fargo, and No Country for Old Men, and features someone flying.
