DC Releases First-Ever Video of Milly Alcock’s Supergirl In Flight

In a fresh video from DC Studios, Milly Alcock, known for her stellar performance as the leading actress in ‘House of the Dragon’, is set to debut as Supergirl. With James Gunn and Peter Safran, co-CEOs of DC Studios, she’s now stepping into the realm of comic book movies. As the release date of her standalone movie draws nearer, fans get a sneak peek at her in action.

On Thursday, August 21, DC Studios launched the premiere of Peacemaker‘s second season. In this initial episode, they provided a summary of the previous season, helping viewers get back up to speed with the storyline as they await Christopher Smith’s reappearance on our screens. Additionally, there was a minor shift in DC history, making the Woman of Tomorrow a key figure.

Summarizing the closing scenes of the first season finale of Peacemaker, DC Studios inserted a scene earlier showcasing a group known as the Justice League standing in a field. Originally, this scene depicted Peacemaker and his team walking past them. However, in an interesting twist, this moment has now been altered or rewritten (retconned) to feature the Justice Gang instead, a group that was first introduced in Superman.

In this scene, you can see Milly Alcock as Supergirl, alongside Mister Terrific, Superman, Guy Gardner (Green Lantern), and Hawkgirl, all suspended in mid-air towards the right end of the frame.

James Gunn clarified for a fan that Superman and Supergirl aren’t part of the Justice Gang. However, he noted that they frequently work together with the Justice Gang, much like in the movie “Superman.

After the conclusion of “Peacemaker” on HBO Max, the upcoming theatrical release from DC Studios’ Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters lineup is “Supergirl”. Featuring Milly Alcock, Jason Momoa, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham, this movie marks the first standalone story for Kara Zor-El. You may recall that she briefly met Clark Kent on Earth at the end of his solo DCU film. Catch “Supergirl” in cinemas starting July 26, 2026.

When To Expect More From Milly Alcock’s Supergirl

After making her official DCU debut as Milly Alcock in the 2025’s Superman, she is poised for even more stardom with a solo storyline of her own. Following the wrap-up of principal filming in May 2025, viewers can’t wait to discover the details of her upcoming standalone movie.

Currently, fans are aware that Kara Zor-El, portrayed by Alcock, is set to embody the first live-action version of Lobo. This role will be reprised by Jason Momoa, marking his return to the broader DC Universe. With this casting decision, DC is poised to present an epic showdown featuring its second most prominent Kryptonian and one of the craziest comic book movie villains ever.

Anticipation builds as DC Studios is engrossed in post-production for the film, and it’s expected that we might see the first official trailer towards the closing months of 2025 or possibly in the early part of 2026.

Details are still being tightly held, but it’s almost certain that Supergirl will push the boundaries of the DC Universe narrative even farther in what promises to be an exhilarating inaugural solo journey.
