Daredevil: Born Again’s Mr. Charles’ Thunderbolts* connection confirmed
A recent update from the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 production confirms a connection between the character Mr. Charles and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, strengthening the show’s ties to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe and the upcoming Thunderbolts* project.
In a recent interview with Movie Web, the showrunner, Dario Scardapane, revealed that the character Mr. Charles, played by Matthew Lillard, was intentionally created to be connected to Valentina. He explained they wanted to establish this link, which is why Mr. Charles was on the other end of that phone call.
Scardapane expressed enthusiasm about potentially incorporating the character into their projects, but clarified that the final decision isn’t up to him. He shared that he has a story idea he’d love to develop, but those kinds of choices are made by people higher up in the organization.
Sana Amanat, an executive producer, discussed the connection between characters, emphasizing how valuable these links can be. She said, “It’s always good to have those connections, you never know where they might lead,” adding that fans would likely enjoy seeing it. This news also clarifies previous questions about the character’s involvement, confirming they are part of Valentina’s group.
Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on March 24, 2026, on Disney+.
