Universal Pictures has released nine new posters showcasing the characters from the upcoming movie, Wicked: For Good. These posters feature both the main heroes and villains, as well as other important characters. A highlight of the reveal is Colman Domingo as the Cowardly Lion, who was introduced on the official Wicked movie Instagram page (@wickedmovie).

The official Instagram account for the upcoming movie Wicked just revealed nine new character posters! They announced Colman Domingo will play the Cowardly Lion, joining Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Ariana Grande as Glinda, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard, and Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero. Wicked arrives in theaters next month.
Director Jon M. Chu shared with Deadline that Cynthia Erivo’s portrayal of Elphaba was designed to showcase her strength, presenting her as a “superhero.” He explained they wanted to highlight Elphaba’s power and individuality, while also exploring the beginnings of Glinda’s journey to becoming “Glinda the Good.”
Chu explained that he reached out to Domingo through Instagram about a small recording project. Domingo enthusiastically agreed, responding with something along the lines of, ‘Why not?’ and they quickly recorded the lines.
This new movie picks up where the 2024 Wicked film left off. Elphaba, now known as the Wicked Witch of the West and living in hiding, works to protect the Animals of Oz, who have no voice. At the same time, Glinda lives a public life in the Emerald City, guided by Madame Morrible, and gets ready to marry Prince Fiyero, all while appearing as a beacon of goodness.
When Glinda and Elphaba meet again, their conflicting beliefs put Oz in danger. Meanwhile, the story also explores how the lives of Nessarose and Boq become connected to the decisions made by Elphaba and Glinda. Finally, a young woman’s arrival from Kansas sparks the events that ultimately connect the story of ‘Wicked’ to the classic tale of ‘The Wizard of Oz’.
Wicked: For Good premieres in theaters on November 21, 2025.
