2025 has been an exceptional year for horror cinema, with both original productions and sequels pushing the boundaries of fear. It’s remarkable that the official start of the spooky season is still weeks away, and if I were to compile a Top 10 list for this year so far, it would likely overlap significantly with my personal favorite horror movies, as these past eight months have proven to be an outstanding period for startling jumps, uncomfortable squirms, unexpected yelps, and the involuntary exclamation of “What the hell?!” when a film truly shocks you.
