While Ghosted isn’t quite as popular as top films like F1 and The Family Plan 2, it’s performing similarly to movies like The Lost Bus and Greyhound.

A recent report claims Kathleen Kennedy will leave her position as president of Lucasfilm in 2026, with Dave Filoni, a popular figure among Star Wars fans, potentially taking on a leadership role. Similar rumors surfaced in February 2025, but Kennedy dismissed them at Star Wars Celebration. Until Disney or Kennedy confirms anything, this remains speculation. However, whenever Kennedy does leave Lucasfilm, it will be a significant moment for the Star Wars franchise, with potential for both positive and negative changes.

It’s true that not all of Sydney Sweeney’s recent projects have been successful in theaters, like Eden and Madame Web. But surprisingly, both of those films became popular hits on Netflix. Now, with her latest thriller and a strong cast, Sweeney is continuing a positive streak.

I absolutely loved the latest Simpsons episode, “Seperance!” It was a hilarious take on Severance, and it started with Barry Duffman showing up at Homer’s place. Turns out, he’s no longer the Duffman mascot – the company’s completely retired the character! He explained that all that old-style advertising – spokespeople, print ads, even TV commercials – just doesn’t work on kids anymore, and they can’t even remember the jingles. It was a really clever commentary on how advertising has changed.

Video game adaptations don’t always succeed, and 2025 wasn’t a great year for them, with few truly standing out. However, there’s reason to be optimistic! Many more gaming-inspired shows are coming soon, giving us plenty to anticipate in the years ahead.

Ridley Scott’s original Blade Runner came out in 1982 and featured Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard. Thirty-five years later, Denis Villeneuve directed Blade Runner 2049 (2017), which is widely considered one of the best sequels ever made. Starring Ryan Gosling as K, the film continues the thought-provoking story about artificial intelligence.

Guillermo del Toro doesn’t release his films until he’s gotten feedback from a select group of trusted colleagues. He explained to Variety at the Palm Springs International Film Festival that he prefers to show his work to about 14 to 16 of his most talented friends – people he considers lucky to call friends – rather than doing traditional test screenings.

The fifth season of Stranger Things is currently the most popular show on the streaming service, racking up 31.5 million views. The earlier seasons are also performing well: Season 1 is third with 7.6 million views, Season 2 is fifth with 5.5 million, Season 3 is seventh with 5 million, and Season 4 is eighth with 4.8 million.

Chris Pratt has become a real go-to guy for sci-fi – I mean, he’s fantastic as Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy films and really held his own in the Jurassic World series. He’s proven he can handle the genre with The Tomorrow War too. And it looks like he’s continuing that trend with what’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting sci-fi releases of 2026. While Marvel fans are still waiting to see if he’ll be back as Star-Lord anytime soon, his future in the genre definitely looks bright!

After just three weeks on Netflix, the movie The Great Flood has become one of the platform’s most popular non-English films worldwide, currently ranking seventh on the all-time Top 10 list.
