Boy Meets World’s Danielle Fisher Reveals Her Love For The X-Files

If you were a kid in the ’90s, you probably remember watching . This sitcom followed Cory Matthews and his family and friends as they navigated the ups and downs of growing up, from middle school through college, offering a funny and relatable look at those important years.

Boy Meets World’s Danielle Fishel Is All About The X-Files

After acknowledging the actors’ respective reputations for starring in two of the most nostalgic properties of 1990s, Drake then asked her guests what movies or TV shows cause them to look back on the old days. For Fishel, the answer is easily The X-Files.

Growing up, ‘Boy Meets World’ felt like a special event for my family. I didn’t start watching TV until I was a teenager, but we all gathered together every week to watch it – it was a ritual. We’d dim the lights, grab popcorn and a blanket, and enjoy the show as a family. I loved it and watched every episode, and it still brings me a lot of happiness and comfort.

Since Danielle Fishel loves the show Creator, which first aired in 1993 like Boy Meets World, this year’s Comic-Con was likely a big event for her. Dynamite Entertainment announced at their SDCC panel that a new comic book series about the FBI’s strangest cases is in the works.

If comics are not her preferred medium, however, perhaps Fishel should see if she can land a role on . The lead slots have already been taken by The Odyssey’s Himesh Patel and Danielle Deadwyler of The Piano Lesson fame, but a guest spot or even a recurring stint might be up for grabs.

Dugout Dads Reunites The Sandlot Cast

Before potentially joining the world of The X-Files, Danielle Fishel is returning to TV in a new series called Dugout Dads. She’ll play the wife of actor Patrick Renna, and they recently debuted the show’s first trailer together at San Diego Comic-Con.

This comedy series is coming to YouTube later this summer. It stars Renna, who previously appeared on a popular show, as a dad who volunteers to coach his child’s baseball team. He soon discovers it’s much harder than he expected, especially when he clashes with other parents and the coaches he’s working with.

The film Dugout Dads is notable for bringing together the original actors from a story about a group of baseball-loving kids trying to get a baseball signed by Babe Ruth from a yard rumored to be guarded by a scary, mutated creature. The film marked actor Renna’s first feature film role, where he played the quick-tempered Hamilton “Ham” Porter. His admiration for Babe Ruth, nicknamed “The Great Bambino,” later inspired the name of his production company, Hambino Media, which is now presenting his new series.

Several original cast members from the movie Sandlot are appearing in the new series Dugout Dads, including Tom Guiry, Chauncey Leopardi, Marty York, Brandon Quintin Adams, Victor DiMattia, Shane Obedzinski, Grant Gelt, and Wil Horneff. The series is written by Sebastian Jones, who previously worked on Friends, and Dan Kopelman, a writer for Malcolm in the Middle, and is directed by Victor Nelli Jr.

Dugout Dads premieres on YouTube on Aug. 26, 2026.
