The new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday suggests that Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom will be an incredibly formidable villain.
Marvel is currently finishing up work on Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The film is expected to be released in US cinemas later this year, and a follow-up movie, Avengers: Secret Wars, is planned for 2027.
Marvel has released four short trailers teasing their upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. The trailers have each highlighted different characters: the first showed the return of Captain America (Chris Evans), the second focused on Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and the third introduced some X-Men. The final trailer featured Black Panther/Shuri (Letitia Wright), The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and other characters.

Reports indicate the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday shows Thor, armed with Stormbreaker, attacking Doctor Doom. However, Doom effortlessly stops Thor’s attack with a simple wave of his hand.
Thor managed to strike Thanos with Stormbreaker in both Infinity War and Endgame – he even delivered the final blow, though Thanos wasn’t actively defending himself at the time. The directors, the Russo brothers, also hinted at Doctor Doom’s importance in a future Marvel film, describing him as a deeply complex character who is always several steps ahead.
Okay, Marvel fans, mark your calendars! We’re now looking at December 18th, 2026 for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ and just a year later, on December 17th, 2027, we’ll get ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ It’s a bit of a wait, but it seems the culmination of everything is finally coming into view.
