The Monsterverse has quickly become known for introducing a lot of giant creatures, or Titans, into its stories. Godzilla and Kong are the mainstays, serving as the foundation for everything else. It all started with the 2014 Godzilla film, which brought the MUTOs into the mix. Then came Kong: Skull Island in 2017, featuring a whole host of monsters on the island. The 2019 film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, really expanded the universe, introducing Titans like Mothra, Rodan, and the three-headed King Ghidorah.

James Cameron is well-known for his dedication to the expansive Avatar series. But it’s a mistake to think that’s all he does. He remains a powerful force as a producer and creative advisor on other projects, including the Terminator films and the 2023 remake of True Lies.

The new Gossip Girl-esque writer is likely someone we’ve already met on the Netflix show Bridgerton. If not, the reveal won’t be very satisfying.
