Interestingly, Jerry O’Donnell, known for his role in the TV show Bosch, is now training to become a police officer with the Asheville Police Department in North Carolina. He recently spoke with the Asheville Watchdog about the demanding physical training and his motivation to serve the public. You can read the full interview below.

While ‘Welcome to Derry’ has delivered many frightening scenes, the most disturbing moment so far didn’t involve Pennywise at all. As a huge Agatha Christie fan, I was excited to see both Death on the Nile (2022) and A Haunting in Venice (2023) finally hit Prime Video. While they didn’t do so well in theaters, I think anyone who loves her stories will still want to check these adaptations out.
Even though Steve Rogers is no longer actively appearing as Captain America, he could still return in future Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films. Things like time travel and the multiverse offer ways to bring him back in a younger form. While this is supposedly a key part of the plot for Avengers: Doomsday, Captain America is also appearing in a new Spider-Man animated series, which lets younger fans enjoy his adventures and leaves the door open for a potential comeback in the MCU.
Calling Timothée Chalamet a “revelation” doesn’t quite capture it. He’s already shown incredible talent many times before. Chalamet is a truly gifted actor for his generation, and his portrayal of Marty Hauser – a charming, quick-witted, and sometimes harsh shoe salesman in post-war New York who dreams of becoming a table tennis champion – might be his best performance so far.
A preview of Marvel’s Ultimate Universe: Two Years In #1 (from creators Deniz Camp, Alex Paknadel, and others) shows the future Guardians of the Galaxy unable to prevent a disaster in their timeline. Luckily, there’s a massive force of tens of thousands of Guardians available to help, though their exact locations across space and time are completely unknown.
John Lithgow is joining the select group of actors who have portrayed Dumbledore, and he’s the first one not from Britain to take on the role. He was older than both Richard Harris and Michael Gambon when they first played Dumbledore, and is expected to continue in the part for the duration of HBO’s planned multi-season series. Previously, a much younger actor played the headmaster, which created some inconsistencies, but the new show will avoid that issue.
I have to say, even with my high expectations, this might be Timothée Chalamet’s best performance yet. He’s consistently amazing, but here, he uses all his natural charisma to make you root for a character who’s often really difficult to like. The story is fascinating – it’s based on the life of a table tennis player, but the script beautifully weaves in elements of 1950s Brooklyn, the myth of Icarus, and even feels like an 80s sports movie! The director really takes all these layers and builds incredible tension – it’s even more gripping than anything he’s done before with his usual filmmaking partner.
The new show isn’t just a big moment for Disney+. Critics are loving it too! According to Rotten Tomatoes, the 2025 release of The Beatles Anthology has a perfect 100% rating, based on nine reviews. People are especially praising how the series explores the Beatles’ musical journey, and the bonus episode is also getting rave reviews.
