It’s incredibly challenging for any new show to rank among the greatest Westerns ever made, especially with so many excellent series already out there. The Western genre has become popular again recently, with shows like Yellowstone and Longmire, which means there’s more competition now than we’ve seen in a long time. But one new project looks promising and has everything it needs to be truly exceptional.

The series concluded with Gendry Baratheon becoming the last known heir to Robert Baratheon’s legacy. He rose from humble beginnings as a blacksmith in Flea Bottom – the poorest part of King’s Landing – to become Lord of Storm’s End after Daenerys Targaryen legitimized him. Gendry first appeared in season one, working as a blacksmith, and was later revealed by Ned Stark to be Robert Baratheon’s son. He quickly became a fan favorite throughout the show.

Ultimately, The Bride is a beautifully made film about a woman reclaiming her power and choosing her own path, despite societal expectations. Jessie Buckley delivers a stunning performance, embodying the character of Ida, the Bride, and even the rebellious spirit of Mary Shelley. The film culminates in a powerful reveal of the Bride’s true self.

Krysten Ritter is reprising her role as Jessica Jones, bringing the character back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) this month in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. It’s been seven years since we last saw Jessica Jones, at the end of her Netflix series in 2019. The showrunner of Daredevil: Born Again has hinted that the MCU might finally be ready to tell the Jessica Jones story fans have been hoping for.

If you’re looking for something to watch on Prime Video this weekend, three shows are getting a lot of attention: a popular crime thriller, a side-splitting prank comedy, and a brand-new series that explores the origins of a famous spy universe.
