At Netflix’s Tudum event, details about the upcoming thriller The Whisper Man were unveiled, including its release date of August 28, 2026. The series, adapted from Alex North’s novel, stars Robert De Niro, Michelle Monaghan, and Adam Scott. The story follows a grieving crime writer whose son is kidnapped. He reluctantly turns to his father, a retired detective, for help, and they uncover a link to a cold case involving a notorious serial killer nicknamed ‘The Whisper Man’.

Despite being rated for mature audiences, the show Velma actually explored the world of Scooby-Doo in a similar animated style and with the same comedic feel as previous versions of the franchise, even before Scooby-Doo: Origins.
