Sci-fi heroes often follow similar patterns to those in other genres, but some have become truly iconic and deeply ingrained in popular culture. While many people know characters like Ellen Ripley from Alien and the Terminator, there are plenty of equally compelling heroes to be found in science fiction television shows as well.

Shows like ER and Buffy the Vampire Slayer helped improve TV’s reputation in the late 1990s, but it was Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, The Wire, and particularly The Sopranos that really defined the new wave of high-quality television at the start of the 2000s. This period brought viewers some of the most innovative and complex shows ever made.

Starting March 27th on the streaming service, a new horror film offers a dark reimagining of the classic 1923 story, Bambi, a Life in the Woods.

In his upcoming memoir, From Mistakes to Meaning: Owning Your Past So It Doesn’t Own You, Lynton reflects on the release of The Interview, calling it the “biggest mistake of my career,” as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. He recalls a conversation with former President Barack Obama, who questioned the film’s plot involving the assassination of a foreign leader. Lynton explains he approved the controversial comedy hoping to establish himself and produce edgy, unconventional films.

According to Variety, a legal request has been made by the Los Angeles Superior Court regarding the 32-year-old facing murder charges. If found guilty, they could receive either the death penalty or a life sentence.

You might remember hearing about Bloodmoon, a show starring Naomi Watts. It was set thousands of years before the main Game of Thrones series, during an earlier era, and would have shown the events leading up to the war with the White Walkers. Unfortunately, it was cancelled after a pilot episode was filmed. Another planned show, Flea Bottom, would have focused on the lives of people in King’s Landing, but that project was also scrapped.

Actress Sink became part of the ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ project in March 2025, though her specific role wasn’t revealed. Fans immediately speculated she would be cast as Jean Grey in the upcoming X-Men reboot from Marvel Studios. Although Marvel hasn’t officially announced anything, several reliable sources reported last month that she’s indeed playing the popular mutant character in ‘Brand New Day’.
