But Bruno won’t be satisfied until the other part of their agreement is fulfilled.

These are the villains we strangely find ourselves captivated by, drawn into their plans despite knowing they’re wrong. A classic example is Robert Walker’s portrayal of Bruno Antony – a villain who effortlessly draws the audience in.

Robert Mitchum’s Harry Powell in The Night of the Hunter is often considered the most iconic villain of the 1950s, but Antony’s Bruno is a strong contender. Despite his potentially threatening demeanor, Bruno is surprisingly charming and easy to get drawn to. When Guy, the most vulnerable character, understands that Bruno is serious, it’s completely understandable. Bruno initially has a captivating personality, making it difficult to believe he’s capable of ruthless violence.
