Gwyneth Paltrow recently returned to acting with the popular comedy-drama Marty Supreme, and critics are loving her performance as actress Kay Stone. However, one of her family members had a particularly strong reaction to the film – they apparently found her sex scenes so embarrassing they wished they weren’t watching! Paltrow found the whole situation amusing.
Throughout this awards season, Gwyneth Paltrow has been attending various events. Recently, she went to a screening at the San Vicente Bungalows in Santa Monica, California, which included a question-and-answer session led by Demi Moore. The conversation eventually turned to the intimate scenes Paltrow shared with Timothée Chalamet. Paltrow jokingly told People magazine that her son, Moses Martin, wasn’t happy watching those scenes, and she went on to describe his reaction.

It’s understandable that Gwyneth Paltrow was simply acting, but it makes sense that her 19-year-old son, Moses, feels uncomfortable watching her in those kinds of scenes. This isn’t the first time Paltrow has talked about Moses’s reaction to her intimate scenes in ‘Marty Supreme.’ She’s mentioned before taking him to the movie’s premiere in L.A., and he apparently covered his face during the love scenes – a pretty awkward situation for any teenager.
Gwyneth Paltrow revealed she chose not to film a sex scene with Ethan Hawke. She explained her reasoning, stating she simply wasn’t comfortable with it and firmly decided against it.
The discussion about the romantic scenes between Paltrow and Chalamet started before the movie even came out. Photos from the set showing them kissing appeared online, and Paltrow’s children, Moses and Apple Martin (21), reacted right away. Paltrow said Moses wasn’t thrilled with the pictures, but Apple was more okay with them.
Around the same time, Gwyneth Paltrow, known for her role in The Royal Tenenbaums, shared that her characters in Marty have a significant amount of intimacy. She also gained attention for saying she rarely needed the help of the intimacy coordinator on set, a role increasingly common in filmmaking. Her comments sparked criticism, and Paltrow later explained she didn’t intend to cause any offense.
These days, “Marty Supreme” – and even Gwyneth Paltrow – are generating a lot of excitement. The movie, directed by Josh Safdie, has received multiple Golden Globe nominations for 2026, including Best Musical or Comedy. It’s also expected to be a strong contender at the upcoming Academy Awards. It remains to be seen how the awards season will unfold, but hopefully, Moses won’t have to see his mother’s intimate scenes too often!
