Netflix has announced the first actor joining the cast of its upcoming Assassin’s Creed series, which is based on the popular Ubisoft video games. This news follows the official greenlight for the live-action show four months ago.
Who is joining the Assassin’s Creed TV show?
Toby Wallace, known for his roles in “The Bikeriders” and “Babyteeth,” will be a main cast member in the upcoming “Assassin’s Creed” TV series. While details about his character haven’t been released yet, Deadline reports he’ll play a key part in the action-packed show. This project reunites Wallace with the streaming service after he previously starred in “The Society” six years ago. Before appearing in the “Assassin’s Creed” adaptation, he’ll be featured in Season 3 of HBO’s “Euphoria.”
The series revolves around a hidden conflict between two powerful groups: one trying to control humanity’s future, and the other fighting to protect our freedom. The story will unfold during important moments in history as these characters struggle to decide the fate of humankind.
Roberto Patino and David Wiener will lead the upcoming Assassin’s Creed series as showrunners. They’ll be working alongside Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, and Genevieve Jones from Ubisoft Film & Television, as well as Matt O’Toole. Filming is scheduled to begin in Italy in 2026.
The popular video game series first launched in 2007 and has since sold over 230 million copies around the world. This isn’t the first attempt to turn Assassin’s Creed into a movie; a film starring Michael Fassbender was released in 2016.
