Viewers are eagerly tuning into one of Prime Video‘s biggest original shows as it prepares to return. Adaptations of video games are becoming increasingly popular thanks to the success of films like Sonic the Hedgehog, A Minecraft Movie, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. A standout success in this trend can be found on Prime Video.
Even though the second season of Fallout doesn’t premiere until December 17th, viewers on Prime Video have pushed the first season into the top 10, making it the second most popular show on the platform this week. With the new season just a month away, it’s clear fans are excited for its return.
Fortunately, the first season of the show based on the Fallout video game will keep fans entertained until the next season arrives next month.
Fallout Releases Action-Packed Trailer for Season 2
This is likely fueling the recent surge in popularity and its rise on streaming platforms. The show takes viewers on a journey from the desolate Mojave Desert to the ruined city of New Vegas, reconnecting them with beloved characters.
Set 200 years after a global catastrophe, Fallout explores the divide between the wealthy and the impoverished in a world stripped bare. Residents of luxurious underground shelters are compelled to venture onto the surface, where they encounter a strange, dangerous, and surprisingly intricate new reality.
Season 1 of Fallout received very positive reviews, with many calling it a standout show and highlighting its potential for a strong second season. Critics enjoyed the first season and are eagerly anticipating the next installment, especially the promise of a storyline set in New Vegas.
As Season 2 begins, Lucy and Ghoul continue their journey to find Lucy’s father, leading them towards New Vegas.
Sometimes, their dynamic feels like a fun road trip with close friends, but other times they seem distant and at odds with each other,” Purnell explained.
She hinted at a significant challenge for Lucy and Ghoul, explaining that they’re both trying to change each other. The big question is whether the Ghoul will turn good, Lucy will turn bad, or if they’ll both end up somewhere in between.
Fallout Star’s 44% RT Die Hard Replacement Is Unexpected Streaming Success
Before landing the role of The Ghoul in Fallout, Walton Goggins appeared in the 2020 action comedy Fatman with Mel Gibson. Recently, he was also featured on a popular list in the United States.
Okay, so I just saw this movie called Fatman, and it’s seriously twisted. Walton Goggins is fantastic as a hitman who gets a really unusual job: taking out Santa Claus, who’s played by Mel Gibson. But the craziest part? A twelve-year-old kid actually hires Goggins to do it, because he got coal in his stocking! It’s a dark take on the whole Santa mythos, let me tell you.
The movie Fatman didn’t receive great reviews, with a 44% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite this, actor Giancarlo Esposito was widely praised for a standout performance.
Fallout Season 2 premieres Dec. 17 on Prime Video.
