Stranger Things Season 5 Finale Gets Stellar Review From Deadpool & Wolverine Director

As the premiere of the final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things approaches, director Shawn Levy has shared his thoughts on the last episode. Levy, who has been an executive producer on the show since 2016, recently said he’s already seen it and gave it a perfect score – a “10 out of 10.”

Shawn Levy says final episode of Stranger Things Season 5 ‘is a masterpiece’

The director of the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie said the final episode of Stranger Things Season 5 was incredibly emotionally impactful and left him deeply affected.

I just finished watching the very last episode of Stranger Things, and honestly, it was incredible! Shawn Levy, who worked on the show, told Collider it was a masterpiece – he said the Duffer brothers absolutely nailed the ending. He even gave it a perfect 10 out of 10! He admitted it might sound like he’s just promoting the show, but he was genuinely full of respect for Matt and Ross, the writers and directors. He said it was deeply moving and, honestly, it really got to me too.

The Canadian filmmaker strongly believes the final episode of Stranger Things Season 5 is worthy of a theatrical release. He pointed out that it’s unusual for a series finale to premiere in movie theaters, but this episode has definitely earned that special treatment. He was impressed by the idea, calling it a beautiful and rare experience.

Shawn Levy has directed several episodes of the show throughout its four seasons, consistently handling episodes three and four. However, because he’s busy directing the upcoming movie Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024, he could only direct episodes six and part of seven this season.

The first four episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 will be available on Netflix starting November 26th. The next three episodes will be released on December 25th, and the final, extra-long episode will premiere in some cinemas and on Netflix on December 31st.
