He resurfaces after years of being presumed dead and ends up in huge fights with Spider-Man, Iron Man, and a bunch of other Avengers. It’s a pretty epic family drama playing out on a superhero scale!
As a huge Spider-Man fan, I remember “The Death of Jean DeWolff” storyline being a real shocker. It’s where this character, a long-time friend of Spidey, is tragically killed by the Sin-Eater. And it’s interesting because, looking back, that same villain is now seen as the one who really set Eddie Brock – the original Venom – on the path to becoming an enemy of Spider-Man, fueling his intense dislike for Peter Parker. It completely changed Eddie’s life and career.
The casting of actress Colón-Zayas as Jean DeWolff suggests Marvel might be preparing to introduce important elements from Spider-Man’s comic book history into their movies. If she’s playing the character as she appears in the ‘Brand New Day’ storyline, it could lead to exciting new developments for Spider-Man on the big screen.
