According to Deadline, Disney’s new film Tron: Ares is projected to lose the studio around $132 million, despite a reported production cost of $220 million. Industry insiders are questioning Disney’s decision to revive the Tron franchise – which hasn’t been a box office hit in forty years – with such a large investment. One talent representative told Deadline that spending $250 million on a Jared Leto film for a previously unsuccessful franchise is a risky move.
