A popular Stranger Things character will not appear in Season 5 despite hints of a potential return.
What popular character will not appear in Stranger Things Season 5?
Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, was introduced in the fourth season. He was the leader of the Hellfire Club and became good friends with Dustin. While trapped in the Upside Down, Eddie famously played Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” to create a diversion from Vecna’s hideout. Sadly, Eddie ultimately sacrificed himself to save others and died in the Upside Down.
Because Stranger Things has previously resurrected characters, fans have speculated that Eddie Munson could return in the show’s final season. The actor who played him, Joseph Quinn, has hinted that he might appear in a flashback.
Quinn said it should be released shortly, though they admitted anything could happen. They added that nothing is impossible.
In a recent interview with Empire magazine, the creators of Stranger Things, Matt and Ross Duffer, confirmed that Eddie Munson will not be returning to the show.
Matt Duffer jokingly discussed Joe Quinn’s character’s fate, saying, ‘I love how we’re toying with people! But no, he’s dead.’ He clarified that Quinn is currently very busy with other projects, making a return to ‘Stranger Things’ unlikely. ‘He’s shot like five movies since! When would he have time to film more?’ Duffer concluded, playfully confirming the character’s death: ‘Sadly, rest in peace. He’s fully buried.’
The fifth season of Stranger Things will conclude the popular Netflix series. After a wait of over three years since the last episode of Season 4, viewers will finally see Eleven, Hopper, and their friends in a final showdown against Vecna and the monsters from the Upside Down that are threatening their town, Hawkins. The series was created by the Duffer Brothers.
Okay, so I’m super excited – Netflix is finally dropping the last season of Stranger Things, Season 5, but they’re doing it in three chunks this year. Volume One will hit on November 26th, then Volume Two on Christmas Day, and the very last part – the finale – will be out on New Year’s Eve. It’s going to be a long wait between each drop, but I’m already planning my viewing schedule!
