10 Things About Peacemaker That Make No Sense

With the season finale now available, viewers have a lot of unanswered questions. While some of these might be addressed in future shows like *Man of Tomorrow* or season two of *Creature Commandos*, others stem from confusing plot points in the series itself.

While *Peacemaker* is a fantastic show overall, it does have a few loose ends. Certain plot points, like why Judomaster acts the way he does and what’s really going on with Eagly, could use more explanation. If these questions aren’t answered, fans will likely see them as unresolved plot holes.

A.R.G.U.S. Shouldn’t Have Trusted Peacemaker After Suicide Squad

Peacemaker was a relatively unknown character until his own show made him incredibly popular. Despite this, some fans feel he didn’t deserve his own series. It’s unlikely A.R.G.U.S. would have ever employed him again, even though Amanda Waller brought him back to get revenge on her team. Many believe her personal grudge shouldn’t have been a reason to jeopardize important A.R.G.U.S. operations.

Peacemaker wasn’t a good fit for A.R.G.U.S. After impulsively killing Rick Flag Jr. and repeatedly acting rashly, it became clear he lacked the necessary temperament for a top-secret organization. Amanda Waller made a mistake by recruiting him instead of returning him to Belle Reve prison.

Judomaster’s Loyalty To The Butterflies Has No Explanation

The first season of *Peacemaker* focused on the hero and his team battling the Butterflies, aliens attempting to invade Earth by controlling people. A key figure helping them was Rip Jagger, also known as Judomaster. He claimed he supported the Butterflies because he agreed with their goals.

The explanation given was rushed and didn’t really clarify things. The biggest issue is the show didn’t explore Judomaster’s past, leaving his beliefs unexplained. It feels like the character was added simply because James Gunn liked him, regardless of whether it fit the story.

The Other Heroes Shouldn’t Have Taken So Long Arriving

After Chris and his team beat the butterflies at the end of *Peacemaker*’s first season, the Justice League showed up to offer help – but it was too late, and Peacemaker pointed that out. Because the show’s second season is now part of the new DC Universe, that scene has been changed to fit the current storyline.

It doesn’t make sense that these heroes took so long to arrive, considering they’re capable of incredibly fast flight and have advanced technology. They should have responded within seconds to a global threat. The delay only seemed to exist to create a dramatic, and somewhat harsh, arrival scene and the argument that followed.

Eagly’s Storyline Was Mostly Purposeless

When Michael Rooker was cast as Red St. Wild, a renowned eagle hunter, in Peacemaker, fans immediately hoped he’d become a rival for the character Eagly. This storyline played out over a few episodes, showing Rooker as a quirky hunter who carelessly adopted elements of other cultures. The conflict culminated in a reveal: St. Wild discovered that Eagly isn’t just any eagle, but a legendary, almost divine creature that leads all other birds.

The Eagly story arc didn’t really go anywhere after the season ended. While Red St. Wild was killed by eagles and it was revealed Eagly was the original Prime Eagle, the show left the story there. Hopefully, DCU will explore this further, because it would be disappointing if it turned out to be nothing more than a strange, unexplained plot point.

Peacemaker Observing Skills Aren’t That Bad

A major mystery in *Peacemaker* revolved around whether the seemingly perfect alternate reality was actually a world run by Nazis. While hints were dropped throughout the series, the show officially confirmed this with a surprising reveal: a large mural of Hitler was prominently displayed in the alternate A.R.G.U.S. universe, and Peacemaker hadn’t even noticed it.

Viewers have always known Chris wasn’t the smartest character – it’s been a long-running gag. But people seem to be overlooking the fact that he’s a highly skilled fighter and assassin. Because of his training, he should have incredible awareness of his surroundings, so it doesn’t make sense that he’d miss important details.

Economos Is A Liability For A.R.G.U.S.

Okay, so one of the things that *always* makes me laugh in *Peacemaker* is John Economos. This guy is a hacking genius, seriously, but he’s the *worst* when it comes to being a normal A.R.G.U.S. agent. Especially in season two, he just can’t help but go off-book during missions. He’s awful at keeping secrets or lying, and he’s super open about who he’s loyal to – it’s hilarious because it’s so out there!

Given everything that happened, it’s odd they didn’t let Economos go. A.R.G.U.S. fired Emilia for a similar offense, so keeping him around seems inconsistent. While some believe it’s because he’s easily scared, he consistently helps the 11th Street Kids despite his complaints, making him a risk to the organization.

Sasha & Rick’s Relationship Shouldn’t Have Existed

Midway through the season, Emilia Harcourt began a romantic relationship with Rick Flag Sr. This came shortly after he attacked Peacemaker, leading many viewers to believe she was secretly working for Waller, using the relationship to gather information. This isn’t the first time someone has gotten close to Flag under suspicious circumstances – Princess Ilana pulled a similar move in *Creature Commandos*.

Now that the show has ended, it’s clear that Sasha and Rick’s relationship wasn’t a significant romance. While the finale suggested Sasha was upset with Rick’s decisions, their connection hadn’t been built up enough for it to feel impactful. Sasha’s potential conflict with him as a colleague was always a possibility, and their brief romantic involvement didn’t really add anything to the story.

How Did The Smiths Learn To Use The Portal?

Season two of *Peacemaker* showed how Auggie Smith and his children discovered an alien with a special storage device that could unfold quantum possibilities. After Auggie killed the alien, they took the device. This technology became crucial for the weapons used by both White Dragon and Peacemaker. Throughout the series, it’s the primary reason Rick Flag Sr. is pursuing Peacemaker, beyond their personal conflict.

It’s understandable that A.R.G.U.S. had the knowledge to operate the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, but it’s surprising Auggie, Keith, and Chris figured it out. They lack the necessary training, and the technology is from another reality – something completely foreign to them. It doesn’t add up that they could use it successfully without suffering consequences, especially considering Lex Luthor’s disastrous attempt which created a dangerous rift.

The Helmets Still Have No Origin

After the first season, viewers were curious about the origins of Peacemaker’s helmets and Auggie’s advanced technology. The second season explained that Auggie didn’t actually *create* any of it. Instead, he discovered the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, which provided him and Chris with technology they couldn’t have obtained any other way.

Despite all the advanced technology shown in the series, its origins remain a mystery. We never learn if it was taken from alternate versions of themselves, a neighboring civilization, or somewhere else entirely. The show presents these powerful tools, but offers little explanation of how they function, which is unusual given how central they are to the main character’s fighting style.

Chris-2 Was Too Different For His Family Not To Notice The Change

The second season of *Peacemaker* featured many alternate versions of characters when Chris and the 11th Street Kids were transported to another reality. For instance, Chris spent time with his brother and father in this new reality, and they didn’t realize he wasn’t the Chris they knew. As viewers learned more about the alternate Peacemaker from Earth-X, it became increasingly strange that Keith and Auggie didn’t recognize something was different.

The Peacemaker from Earth-X didn’t have much screen time, but the show hinted he was deeply flawed – racist, violent, and a drug user. Given how different he was from the Peacemaker we knew from Earth-1 – who was more sensitive, immature, and kind – his family should have recognized this, particularly his observant father, Auggie.
