The popular show *Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage* returns next month, continuing the success of the *Big Bang Theory* universe on its original network. Future episodes of *Georgie & Mandy* will likely include more familiar faces from *Young Sheldon*, including Raegan Revord, who played Sheldon’s twin sister Missy. Revord, who was only nine years old when she started on *Young Sheldon*, is now sharing her memories of those early days and realizing how significant the experience was.
Before Young Sheldon, Revord had small parts in a few shows and short films. However, their role on the popular CBS series was their first big break. Since then, they’ve been busy with many acting projects for both television and film, and they’ve also written a book called Rules for Fake Girlfriends, which is available now.
Amidst such a blossoming career, Revord was shown their first Entertainment Tonight interview from back in 2017, land was asked what advice they might give their younger self if such a thing were possible. It might be some of the best advice I’ve heard, and I’m well beyond nine years old. In Revord’s words:
It’s important to appreciate the present. When I first started the show, I was young and didn’t fully understand how special it was. It wasn’t until the last few years, when I was older and more grateful, that I truly began to cherish the experience. That last season, we really focused on savoring every moment, something I wish I’d done from the beginning.
Growing up as a child actor is incredibly challenging. It means missing out on a normal childhood and navigating a complex, adult-driven industry without having much life experience. It’s understandable that Revord prioritizes taking time to relax and recharge. After nearly a decade on Young Sheldon, they’ve likely gained valuable insights and could offer great advice to their younger self and other young performers.
Even though *Young Sheldon* has finished, it still holds a special place for Revord, along with the *Big Bang Theory* world. She’s already been in several episodes of season one of *Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage* and will be back for season two. While it’s not clear how many episodes she’ll be in, fans will be excited to see Missy Cooper again, especially considering her almost-elopement to Mexico!
Raegan Revord can’t change the past, but they’re using what they’ve learned to prepare for what’s next. Many young actors could benefit from that kind of wisdom as they work in the industry. It seems Revord especially valued their time on *Young Sheldon*, particularly in the later seasons.
The entire series can be streamed in full with an HBO Max subscription.
