Gamers only have a few days left to get their hands on 21 collections based on popular video game series before they disappear.
According to Video Games Chronicle, LEGO will be discontinuing 21 sets based on video games at the end of this month. Several other LEGO lines, including Star Wars, Harry Potter, and LEGO Friends, are also being retired on July 31st, but fans of video games will be especially affected, losing access to almost two dozen sets featuring beloved characters and locations.
LEGO Is Retiring Multiple Sets Including The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing
Heads up, gamers! A few awesome LEGO sets are getting vaulted soon. As of July 31st, the LEGO Icons Pac-Man Arcade and The Trial Chamber (Minecraft) will be gone. If you’re a Sonic fan, the Super Shadow vs. Biolizard set is disappearing too. But honestly, it’s Nintendo fans who are gonna feel this one the hardest with these retirements.
The LEGO Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree set quickly became popular and will be greatly missed by collectors when it’s discontinued this month. Fans of Animal Crossing will also see Leif’s Caravan & Garden Shop, Able Sisters Clothing Shop, and the Creative Houses: Seasons of Fun sets removed from stores. However, the biggest changes are coming to the LEGO Super Mario line, with 15 different sets being retired.
Several LEGO Super Mario sets are being discontinued, including Prince Florion & Castle Bower, Party at Toad’s House, Captain Toad’s Camp, the Piranha Plant set, and items from Super Mario World like Mario & Yoshi. The Adventures with Interactive LEGO Mario set has been especially popular since it came out. Additionally, the following eight sets will soon be retired: Mario Kart Yoshi Bike, Standard Kart, Baby Mario vs. Baby Luigi, Toad’s Garage, Baby Peach & Grand Priz, Wario & King Boo, Piranha Plant Power-Up Pursuit, and Bowser’s Castle.
Good news for Nintendo lovers, particularly Pokémon fans! Several new LEGO sets have been released this year. One standout set lets you build a highly posable figure with lots of movable parts and a detailed base to display it.
LEGO also unveiled detailed building sets featuring Munchlax and Arcanine, with 757 and 1,190 pieces respectively. These sets, along with other character builds of a similar size, complement the recently launched LEGO Pokémon Red Minifigure – a 930-piece model.
This is the biggest set available, offering collectors detailed scenes from the Pokémon franchise. It includes minifigures of Red, Picnicker, Professor Oak, Eevee, and Pikachu for impressive Pokémon displays. The Poké Ball opens to reveal a dynamic battle scene on one side and a replica of Professor Oak’s lab on the other—complete with a library, computers, molded Poké Balls, and Pokédex tiles.
