Nicholas Hoult recently showed off his new appearance as Lex Luthor for the upcoming film, Man of Tomorrow. He’s also working on a crime thriller heist movie.
Nicholas Hoult and Zoë Kravitz, known for her role as Catwoman in The Batman, are teaming up for a new heist thriller called How to Rob a Bank. The movie, set to release on September 4th, has just released its first trailer. Interestingly, their characters are on opposing sides: Hoult plays the robber, while Kravitz portrays a hacker working to expose him.
What Happens in How to Rob a Bank?
A new crime thriller centers on a group of tech-savvy bank robbers who livestream their daring robberies. As their videos go viral, they attract the attention of an experienced FBI agent and a talented software engineer. Even as this unlikely pair starts to catch up with them, the robbers become bolder, risking everything for what they believe in – and planning their biggest heist to date.
Directed by David Leitch, known for films like The Fall Guy and Bullet Train, How to Rob a Bank is based on a script by Mark Bianculli, who has worked on the project for several years. Leitch signed on to direct in 2025, following The Fall Guy (2024). The film is being produced by Leitch and Kelly McCormick’s 87North Productions, and is a project of Amazon MGM Studios.
The film’s cast features Nicholas Hoult and Zoë Kravitz, along with Rhenzy Feliz from Marvel’s Runaways, John C. Reilly known for Chicago, Christian Slater of Mr. Robot, Tati Gabrielle who starred in You and Mortal Kombat II, and Young Mazino from The Last of Us, as well as cast members from Saturday Night Live.
This movie brings Christian Slater and Lenny Kravitz back together, following their previous work on Kravitz’s first film as a director, ‘Blink Twice,’ which came out in 2024.
Nicholas Hoult Is Back to the DCU
The actor has been consistently busy with a variety of projects, including films like The Garfield Movie, The Order, Juror #2, and Nosferatu, all released in 2024. He first played Lex Luthor in 2025’s Superman and later returned to the role in Season 2 of Peacemaker.
Nicholas Hoult is confirmed to reprise his role as the villain in the next Superman movie, titled Man of Tomorrow. In this film, Lex Luthor will debut a significantly upgraded battlesuit – a vibrant green design that differs from previous animated versions. This marks the first time Luthor’s iconic warsuit will be seen in live-action within a DC film.
I’m so excited for the new Superman movie coming out later this month! Everyone’s already talking about Man of Tomorrow. It’s not a direct sequel to the first Superman film, but it definitely continues the story from that universe, and I’m thrilled David Corenswet is back as our hero!
The new movie, coming out in 2027, will bring back several familiar faces from Superman, including Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/The Engineer. Many other actors will also return for their previous roles.
