Abrams Books’ The Art of Marvel Animation’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is a collectible book filled with behind-the-scenes content from the making of the series. It includes photos, interviews with the creators, plus sketches, storyboards, character designs, and animation cels. The book showcases the series’ unique visual style—a blend of classic comic book art and a modern take on Peter Parker’s New York—and highlights the struggles of balancing everyday life with the responsibilities of being Spider-Man.

The new series launched in January 2025 and quickly became a hit with fans worldwide. It follows a young Peter Parker as he balances the challenges of high school with his first experiences as Spider-Man. Throughout the series, Peter meets seasoned heroes, battles frightening villains, and witnesses a friend’s struggle with the corrupting influence of power.
The show was very well-received by critics, earning a 97% “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 38 reviews. However, viewers had a different reaction, giving it a score of only 62% on the site’s user-based “Popcornmeter” after over 1,000 ratings.
Fans are excitedly waiting for the new season of the show, which is coming to Disney+ later this year. Season 2 will feature the return of popular guest stars like Charlie Cox as Daredevil, and is also expected to include formidable villains, such as the Venom symbiote.
