The franchise’s enduring popularity comes from its memorable characters. Figures like Luke Skywalker, Yoda, and Darth Vader have been beloved heroes and villains for nearly half a century. Beyond these main characters, many others have fascinating backstories that deserve to be told.
As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I’ve always been fascinated by the Jedi. They’ve had so many members – truly a huge number – and some incredibly memorable figures like Kit Fisto and Mace Windu. But honestly, I think there are tons of other Jedi who deserve to be known and seen on screen too; so many forgotten heroes with stories waiting to be told.
Quinlan Vos Lived a Dangerous Whole Life After Order 66
Quinlan Vos wasn’t just a skilled Jedi, but one who thought differently than most. He often broke with Jedi tradition, which proved incredibly useful during the Clone Wars, especially when working in disguise. He also had the rare ability to learn the history of an object simply by touching it, making him an excellent tracker. During the war, he developed a complex relationship with Asajj Ventress, who ultimately helped save him from falling to the dark side while he tried to assassinate Count Dooku, and later, he assisted people fleeing the Empire along the Hidden Path.
Fans have been hoping to see the character Vos return since his introduction in The Phantom Menace. His past with Ventress and his ability to evade the Empire offer a strong basis for a compelling story. Seeing his distinctive fighting style against the Inquisitors would also recapture the exciting lightsaber duels from the prequel trilogy.
Tarre Vizsla Started a Mandalorian Legacy
Tarre Vizsla was a Mandalorian with a connection to the Force who became a Jedi around 1050 years before the Battle of Yavin. He’s best known for wielding a unique lightsaber with a black blade, called the Darksaber. During his life, Vizsla was a respected Jedi Knight and also led the Mandalorians as their leader, with the Darksaber serving as a symbol of his clan’s power.
After he died, the Jedi stored the darksaber at their Temple until Mandalorians managed to steal it. This weapon then became a symbol of leadership for them. It would be incredible to see the story of how it became a legacy, connecting to characters like Sabine Wren and Din Djarin, especially given how popular Mandalorians have become recently.
Revan Was Both a Sith and a Jedi
Revan is arguably the most well-known Sith in the entire Star Wars saga. He began his journey as a Jedi and ultimately returned to the Jedi path. Currently, his official place in the Star Wars canon is only confirmed by the name of a ship within the Emperor’s Final Order fleet. However, his story – including his rise to power, fall to the dark side, manipulation of its energies, and eventual redemption – remains a vital and compelling part of the Star Wars universe.
It’s essential to fully explore Revan’s story within the official Star Wars timeline. A trilogy detailing his journey – from his beginnings as a Jedi, through his downfall, and ultimately his redemption – would be the ideal way to do it. Similar to Anakin Skywalker’s arc, Revan’s story could be both heartbreaking and inspiring, and fans who love the character deserve to see it told properly.
Count Dooku Was a Renowned Jedi
One of the most heartbreaking moments in Star Wars occurred when a character realized they were powerless to change their fate. However, for Count Dooku, the real tragedy wasn’t a lack of control, but his own choice to turn against those who had trained and cared for him – including Yoda and Qui-Gon Jinn.
The animated series Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi showed us events in Count Dooku’s past that caused him to lose faith in the Republic and the Jedi, but there are many unanswered questions about his life. His upbringing and the internal struggle he faced when turning against his friends are just a few areas the Star Wars story could explore in greater detail.
Kelleran Beq’s History is Worth Exploring
First appearing in Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, this Jedi was also a member of the Jedi Vanguard, responsible for guarding the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Known as the Sabered Hand, he was a master lightsaber duelist, rivaled by few, and particularly skilled when fighting with two lightsabers, much like Ahsoka Tano.
Kelleran Beq protected Gorgu during the devastating Jedi Purge, and fans are still curious about what happened to him. While he likely survived Order 66, a movie exploring his story could reveal what he’s been doing and shed light on the activities of the Sabered Hand.
