
Destiny 2 has been popular for more than eight years, but a significant chapter is coming to a close. Throughout its history, the game has changed dramatically, even updating old storylines and removing previous content to make way for new experiences.
Destiny 2 players have experienced a rollercoaster of experiences over the years. The Witch Queen expansion was widely praised, while Lightfall proved more controversial. Recently, The Final Shape has drawn many players back, and some are calling it the best Destiny 2 release yet.
Bungie announced on their website that Destiny 2 will receive a final content update called Moment of Triumph on June 9, 2026. While the game will still be playable after that date, similar to the original Destiny, the developers won’t be creating new content anymore.
