Grey’s Anatomy Star Addresses Season 23 Future After Doctor’s Firing

An actor from Grey’s Anatomy is discussing what happened to his character after his unexpected departure from the show’s latest season.

Harry Shum Jr., who plays Dr. Blue Kwan on Grey’s Anatomy, recently told E! News he’s unsure about his character’s future in season 23. He admitted he doesn’t know what’s next, saying, “I really don’t know – I’m finding out along with the viewers. I’m hoping the show will explore whether fans want to see his character stay away or return to the hospital.”

The season 22 finale of Grey’s Anatomy focused on the dramatic bridge collapse and said goodbye to characters Owen Hunt and Teddy Altman as actors Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver left the series. Meanwhile, Dr. Kwan’s story reached a turning point when Dr. Webber made the decision to fire him.

A few episodes ago, Dr. Kwan gave a patient a drug that hadn’t yet been approved by the FDA. When Dr. Bailey learned about this, she attempted to protect him, but Dr. Webber eventually discovered the truth and challenged Kwan about his actions.
